Dumb was too strong a word, but they're smarter than you if you hoard random $hitcoins that a group of people is printing on a whim.

The point is, they have the right to print $hitcoins. Everyone does. And they're not obligated to issue a money that's not shitty. No one is. Not you, not me, not the Fed.

You can view the fact that most of the economy runs on fiat as a negative externality, but that's their choice and you can't coerce them to switch to sound money. But if you really have to blame someone, blame all those fiat worshippers around you - your family etc., because it's their actions that are affecting you. And not those at the fiat printer, who have no obligations towards anyone whatsoever.
