I know, I know, self-custody FTW and everything. However, I'd like to split my stack and have a part of it with a trusted custodian to minimize the possibility of losing it all due to some unforeseen event.
So far, I've heard about unchained.com and casa.io, do you have any thoughts about them? Any other company I should know about?
Btw, I live in EU, so I'd prefer companies that work with EU clients. Any help appreciated!
There are companies like:
However their products and services are targeted for institutions and bigger businesses. Not sure you will find anything useful with them. As an example Bitgo, has some multisignature (2/3) offerings you can use as a single user and might be interesting if spreading your funds is what you are looking for.
Anyhow, I never used any of those, I only know about them due to some research I did a couple of years ago, so I can't recommend any of the above.

Thanks for the info anyway :)

Not your keys, not your coins.

Yes, because nothing ever happens to your keys, your backups and your own frail body.

I understand your concerns, but with a little care you can overcome these "problems". Duplicating the backup in different places and having someone you trust who knows how to use the keys will solve your worries.

having someone you trust who knows how to use the keys
That's already a tough combo to have :)
Afaik, having multiple backups for a single-key wallet is inferior to a multi-sig, and if we're going that road and we need to trust someone else anyway, why can't it be a Bitcoin company built to last?

Everyone has their own life. I understand that in certain situations it is better to use custody companies. But the way I see it, it will always be the last solution.

You can trust me. I'll keep it safe. I promise.

If it's not open source, might as well give it to me, I'll custody it for you for a competitive price. Trust me

Biggest scam we all fell for was learning to not hold our own money by trusting the banks with our funds...it's easy that's why look at the return you get here in America it's. 02% low reward/low risk due to them giving money back if account gets hacked...but with btc learn it u won't regret it while it is high risk it's also high reward
