It's Genesis Block day!

I got curious as to what notable things were happening in the world of sports back on January 3rd 2009.

So, I harnessed the power of the internet time machine to see what I could find. Here is what I discovered:

The Chargers beat the Peyton Manning led Colts in an AFC Wild card game 23-17
The Kurt Warner led Cardinals beat the Falcons in an NFC Wild card game 30-24

-Kevin Martin of the Sacramento Kings was the top scorer in the NBA that night with 45 points in a loss to the Indiana Pacers -Matt Ellis of the Buffalo Sabres, Alex Steen of the St Loius Blues and Jonathon Cheechoo of the Sharks were the top point getters, each with 3, in the NHL that night.

Not the most interesting day in sports history to be sure, but fun to take a look back in time and see what was happening.

Oh yeah. Another win for the new look Raps tonight. Wasn’t perfect. They let the Grizz back into the game late but IQ had a good game and RJ was all over the place even though his shooting went cold in 2nd half. Looking good so far.

@ekzyis odd thing occurred in the formatting of this post. I used dashes on all four of the events I was referencing but two came up as bullets and the other two as dashes. Any idea why and how I can avoid in the future?

I just reproduced this issue and it seems the formatting requires a space between the dash and the character
