I've experimented with dedicating one day a week to steering clear of the most intense dopamine triggers in my routineāthink phone, internet, PC, drugs, self-pleasure, or sex. The result? It's remarkably easier for me to focus on everyday tasks like chores or work, rediscovering the joy in them. How about you? Have you tried a dopamine detox? How do you limit phone/internet, and still use them for work/utility? I have some tricks, but still find this to be remarkably tricky.
So many things are useful/necessary, but are tightly bound to the addictive crap.
For instance, for buying/selling used items in my area, you really need to be on Facebook marketplace. But on Facebook marketplace, all the rest of the Facebook addictive stew is staring you in the face.

That is what exercise is for. To create stressors to the body that are not dopamine.
So yes, one to two hours a day I spend not creating dopamine hits.
