Oh yeah.. almost forgot to mention this one, I know the insane AI personal tutors are right around the corner... I don't really use AI much but this is a damn good use case in my opinion.
I could imagine many ways to use it now that I should experiment with. The ChatGPT mobile app has voice and speech capability now so I tried using it the other day, just told it "act as my Spanish tutor, ask me some questions and gauge my level, adjust accordingly and help me work on my weak points" etc.
It seemed entirely capable of doing a really good job at this. The only issue was it was talking too fast for me and when I asked it to slow down it wasn't able to do that.
I'm sure within the year there will be amazing dedicated apps which can give you a conversation partner, figure out what you need to study, then just plug a bunch of flashcards into your anki deck or tool of choice and so on.
If I find any breakthroughs here I'll share them. Curious if anyone else has used AI for language practice?
Very good use case indeed. I should definitely try it out and see how one can leverage it. I'm sure there are already some wrappers trying to do this, but it's the wild west out there...
