I'm sure it didn't cause gang violence either, but I imagine those cities weren't exactly proud of the association. 

"Baltimore Bullets" > "Washington Bullets"

I don't think anyone became a gang banger because the team was called the Bullets but I understand not wanting to be seen as promoting gun violence. Bullets is a cool name though.

Having it be the Washington Redskins was especially bad. I'm struggling to think of an analogously bad combination of city and team name: The Beijing [whatever the slur is for Tibetans or Uighars].

I always thought the Bullets was a hilarious name for a DC or Baltimore team. Very on brand for those cities.
