How long would it theoretically sit before being kicked back to the original address if you did nothing?
It could stay there forever if not properly accelerated since bitcoin tx are irreversible

they are irreversible when added to the blockchain, your transaction is stuck in the mempool it will be evicted at some point or you could import your seed on a wallet that has rbf (please be ware of malware), those utxo are still yours until they are included in a block.
Unless you need your sats soon, i'd say it would be best to just wait.
