As a bitcoiner aspiring to spend more time in other parts of the world, what should you keep in mind in particular for island life?
Personally I have never lived on "island country" before, and have only been able to spend a small bit of time with them.
Check out these pictures I took in Hawaii -- if you've ever been, you may recognize some of these spots. This place has so much to offer:
Beautiful Honolulu
Lush blues and greens everywhere
Vanilla-infused meals courtesy of the local vanilla bean farms
And of course much more.
Madeira, Portugal is an island that's high high up on my bucket list. Very interested to travel there someday and feel the vibes out. Have you been before?
For those of you that get to enjoy views and vibes like these daily, what advice do you have for those considering the lifestyle? What are the potential downsides of living in places like these? Best Bitcoin islands???
I've contemplated moving to Hawaii before.
Some of the downsides I've heard from people:
  • It's expensive to live
  • It's expensive to travel
  • People won't visit you as often (and if they do you're only one part of their larger vacation)
  • You might eventually get bored, depending on your personality and desire to experience new things of course
But the upsides are certainly attractive

Think very carefully before you commit. Islands can get very small. Especially Hawaii.
It's a great place for a while, but there's a lot of woke leftism in Hawaii. Also, the discrimination against "haoles" is real. Someone I know experienced a lot of it in elementary school.

Learn how to be in one with nature and you don't have any worries

Hmm I guess a downside would be sunburn?
