Tommy James and the Shondells had a number of hits in the 1960s. The band members were from Michigan. They gained local fame before their first big hit, Hanky Panky, in 1965.
Crimson and Clover, released in 1969, quickly became a "psychedelic tinged" classic. I love this song:
