2023 is about to come to an end, so I can’t help but reminisce about the personal growth I have achieved this year, thanks to my time on this sub. Stacker News has not only accelerated my knowledge of Bitcoin, but also given me invaluable support for my personal life.
Learning about Bitcoin
This sub is really a one-stop hub to enhance my knowledge of Bitcoin. Just last year, I didn’t know about Bisq and RoboSats, didn’t understand the Bitcoin Standard mindset, couldn’t figure the hell out of UTXOs. However, thanks to Stackers who were generous in sharing their insights and knowledge, I arrive at the end of 2023 with a better understanding of all things Bitcoin. I also found it interesting the opinions held by Stackers towards new developments like Ordinals and even personalities like Michael Saylor. I think interacting with people here has helped shape my philosophy towards Bitcoin. I now believe more strongly in selling fiat to buy Bitcoin!
Learning to cope with parenthood
On the personal front, I poured out my struggles about being a father, to which many Stackers were forthcoming with their personal anecdotes and advice. Prior to posting, I saw no way out of the hellhole I had dug for myself. But since then, I have realised that there are some things still within my control. One thing that stuck in my mind was fostering a love of reading in my son so that he would preoccupy himself with books in the future. I try to read to/with him more often than before. Suffice to say that my coping mechanism has been sharpened.
So this is how Stacker News has enriched my life this year. What about you?
