What a garbage dump. I've closed Twitter, Facebook and now LinkedIn.
I've got NOSTR and some of the wall things I'm sure.
Facebook I closed in 2020. Twitter last year or early this year. LinkedIn today.
I liked the business stuff but there are too many who are funded by the government or government contracts and they want to look good for their peers.
It's a waste of time. I have to scroll through 10 turds before I find something mildly interesting. A lot of folks jacked up and pissing on each other and the wind. The algorithm has selected me for a certain audience and I guess the intention is to get me to leave.
Our maybe I'm not very important at all. I'm not. I'm just another person who's trying to make it.
I'm relatively new here at Stacker News so I'm going to put more time and energy into learning from others and sharing my own insights.
I first got a LinkedIn account because I wanted to get a job with RedHat and they wanted to see a LinkedIn profile. Maybe a Stacker profile is better.
Some very smart people here so I would like to boost my grateful eyes on your erudition.
the only reason I use LinkedIn is for fiat job hunting. it's not great for anything else tbh.
I definitely enjoy going through the jobs territory over any content at Linked in. I'm not qualified enough yet for more of the technical positions but they do give me focus on what things I should be studying to be more qualified, y'know?

I'd love to drop it, but my company requires me to keep it for promoting myself.
It's not a problem as I never use it anyway. 😎

I don't fault the other LinkedIn users. I
I needed to discipline myself and my feedback was wasted. I was very active.
The amount of triggered amygdalas was too much. Lots of inactive users who are similarly there but not wasting time proving points.
Maybe one day there will be a similar Stacker Business profiles.

I think the issue is not about inactive users, but companies requiring an account there just to up the count of people working on their profile.
Especially when said company is entirely inactive itself on the platform...
Also, Stacker News has a ~jobs territory, it's not the same thing but surely better for me.
