I want to hear from the AI artists on why you love this as a tool for art. I have no idea and would love to learn.

While art is subjective, I think part of what makes something art is the time and the decisions made during the creation process. As far as prompting a computer to spit out an image goes, I find it lacks the initial creative energy and thus weakens the value of 'time' spent in creation. Taking shortcut and labeling it art, just simply isn't art in my opinion.

ai art could be a tool, but I definitely get why traditional artists thoroughly dislike it in most iterations.

you might be mad too if your labor was monetized for billions without your consent and also didn't get a cut ( or credit)

if you're not training your llm on data you own, the LLM is just taking other people's proof of work and crafting it into something else - and some people claim that as uniquely original art.

There are artists who use AI in their work in a generative way that is interesting - I'm a fan of the work of https://aiartists.org/sougwen-chung when it comes to artistic practice with AI as collaborator rather than implement
