I am cautiously optimistic about tonight's TNF matchup. The Rams are playing well lately and the Saints are in the hunt for the NFC South title. Both teams have a lot of play for. Hopefully it will be a good matchup. I will jump on at some point tonight during the game if anyone is around.
I was watching the Celtics v.s Kings NBA game last night (after I watched the Raps get schooled by the Nuggets). The Celtics won this game 144-119. That's 263 total points. There was also another game last night (Hawks v.s Rockets) that totaled over 260 points and a game (Pacers v.s Hornets) that totaled 257. I think it's time to have the conversation about scoring in the NBA. Is there too much scoring in the NBA?
Apparently Canada won Gold in the World Hockey Championships that I had no idea was occurring. That being said I do always enjoy the World Junior Tournament that starts after Christmas. It's kind of a big thing here in Canada. Do hockey fans in the US also follow the world juniors? Check out those NHL stars of tomorrow.
MLB hot stove update. Still Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Sats for all, GR
I mentioned some of my thoughts in the Jordan vs LeBron post, but yes scoring has gotten too easy. It's passed the point of being exciting.
I think there's a great opportunity to reign in these out of control scores and also clean up some of the loose sloppy play that is also detracting from the game.
What I envision is just calling more of the obvious offensive fouls, carrying/palming violations, and travelling. I don't think there's any need for new rules or changing the 3-point line or any other major changes.
Allowing players to get away with so many offensive violations not only makes scoring easier, it detracts from how special the best players are. Steph Curry doesn't need loose rules enforcement to explode, but guys like Jordan Poole do. I want the special players to really stand out.

Yes it was our conversation yesterday and that video you forwarded that had me thinking about this and then I watched that game and it was like an all star game. I tried to link your comment regarding the video in my post but for some reason I kept getting an error couldn't copy link and it just copied the youtube video I had recently sent to Public on the music sub, so I gave up after 3 tries. Sorry about that. Wasn't trying to steal your thunder there.

I am bricking it tonight, out of 4 playoff bound teams I was eliminated from 3 last week with some massive upsets. I always hate having a stake in a TNF game. They're always mental.

Short weeks are always tough. A lot of questionable players don't play. Coaches seem to simplify the gameplan a bit.

Yep, always wake up to something crazy having happened in a TNF game.
