Alright, so I really like the idea of living out of a backpack, sleeping outdoors and making miles (also through adverse weather-conditions), but I'm sadly alone with this as I have nobody to share this with.

I have complete Setups ready for every season of the year and even have trails that I wanna walk ready-to-go, but I'm scared of sleeping outside alone and doing this alone also makes it less enjoyable for me, since i'd like to share these experiences with someone.

Any tips on how or where to find like-minded people for this? I'm based in Europe, Netherlands.

Ideally, I'd like to find people to do longer international backpacking trips with, I really think that would be something.

(I really love the new "subs", SN is really starting to evolve into a Bitcoin-focused Social Media!)

yooo I read a post on reddit not to long ago of a guy who did this for YEARS and had mastered it. I'll try to find it for you

Yeah, I've given Reddit a try already, didn't net any results as it's mostly used by Americans.

This is amazing and very admirable that you’re doing this. I believe there are many forums online you can find to meet people who would be willing to share these experiences with you.

However, I would also like to say don’t underestimate doing some of it alone maybe you can document it for YouTube. Doing things in nature as you may already know is like free therapy. There is something about being out there and enjoying the land and the terrains that make it special.

I totally get why you’d want others involved but I guess I would say just don’t let that stop you from fulfilling this goal. I believe alone or not alone you will gain tremendous satisfaction from going through with it.

Thanks for sharing! Be careful out there! If you end up doing it, please consider sharing your experience with us here on -Outdoors

Thankeriñhos! Could you name a (Europe based) forum or two which I could try?

In regards to doing it alone; I just get that "sad" feeling when experiencing adventures like that, plus I'm a paranoid nut, especially at night :D

Hi, dutch traveler myself, more of an expat actually. I'd say just start alone and go easy on yourself, do trails and sleep somewhere where you can meet other hikers?

The point is, IRL you immediately know if it can work with someone or not. Online not so much and it's a lot of hassle to get your schedules together, maybe all for nothing because it doesn't work out. You'll meet a lot of people traveling, it's great. If it's an area popular with hikers, I'm sure you'll meet partners.

Great advice! @Fabs I think here’s your answer? This reminded me. I have a friend who hiked the entire Appalachian Trail. He did it alone and even went off the trail met farmers stayed with them for a night or two and met many hikers along the trail and I remember him saying he teamed up with others several different parts along the journey.

There's routes like the Camino Santiago, where it's apparently pretty easy to meet people while walking. Though most people don't camp, they sleep in hostels.

Also a friend of mine put up a post on a bunch of outdoor/backpacking oriented Facebook groups, looking for people to hike with. She had a HUGE response, like 60 people, picked a few people to go on introductory hikes with, and I believe she found a couple new friends to do hikes with.

Couchsurfing community could be a starting point where you could meet people that like to travel.
