BitVM sounds interesting, but I don't know much about it besides the basics that it will enable some level of smart contracts on Bitcoin. What do you know about it? I've heard that enabling BitVM will make on-chain fees spike greatly. Is there any truth to that and why? Let's discuss below.

The question I haven't seen anyone answer yet is the massive amount of offline processing. Is it worth the expense?

it's my understanding that the processing happens off-chain thus makes it worth the expense. I might be way off base though
