A discussion on @davidw's recent post reminded me of this.
Technology can often distract us from taking nature more seriously. Nature has infinite wisdom to offer if we just take the time to examine it.
As I mentioned in davidw's post, nature reminds us of resilience. If we want to build something that lasts, we need a proper foundation for it. Even a skyscraper city will get overrun by nature if the foundation is not upheld.
Unfortunately, technology makes it so easy now to skip that foundation and spin up whatever "innovation" you'd like, or find all the answers without understanding the problems. Why learn about anything if my AI bot can do it for me??
The more I got sucked down the Bitcoin (and greater future tech) rabbit hole, the more I became aware of this, and the more I paradoxically also became more attentive to building the foundation of my natural well being.
So I started cooking my own meals.
I started replacing man-made products with natural alternatives.
I wanted to get outside more often.
I started doing much of the things the Bitcoin health bros preach about on Twitter. Not all...but I certainly developed a deeper appreciation for ancestral wisdom.
And equally important to nature, I developed a greater urge to support the communities around me!
Something about becoming so aware and exposed to all the dissociative tech developing in the world made me want to care for my natural self and my environment even more. The way the world is going, "nature" will be hard to come by.
If I want to build myself up to last, I shouldn't be chasing after the vapid short-term solutions that technology gives us these days, whether that be for health, relationships, hobbies, etc. I should be integrating myself with my community. I should be driving less, walking more. I should be spending more time where my ancestors were!
Nowadays, I especially feel like I have to be incorporating some kind of sport into my life all year round. For the winter's that's pretty become skiing, in the warmer months I love biking. Occasional rock climbing..
What do you like to do?
What have you done to stay connected with yourself, with nature, with the environment, and with the people around you?
One of my favorite things to do is ride an electric longboard, a OneWheel, or an e-bike. I know the electric part not "nature" but let's face it, it's fun to be outside and go fast without getting all sweaty.

SUN BATHING daily if possible.
30 minutes in the sun, if it's sunny, and if it's not too cold.
Really feels good.
(also regular walks, hikes, etc, but the sunning is new and great).

It is great life preparation - planning, packing light, navigation with and without GPS, plus this body was made for a more nomadic existence and upright movement.

it's too cold right now where i live, but doing shrooms outside helps me stay connected with nature and myself. i probably wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but it works for me

Joining the local cat gatherings.
Taking walks where there's lot of animals and stopping by to interact, there's bunnies, crows, ducks, squirrels and turtles in the places I go.
Also, watching crows and herons hunting it's pretty relaxing.
