Fun weekend of sports.
The NBA in-season tournament championship game was good, even though the outcome never seemed in doubt despite the Pacers consistently hanging around.
Some good NFL games yesterday with a couple of upsets mixed in. Nice win for the Bills. Mahomes is way too talented and has been way too successful (not to mention the Chiefs afforded a lot of huge calls) to be whining about his player being called for a blatant offside. Bad look. The Chiefs are reeling and the Eagles are reeling but still four games to sort themselves out before the playoffs. How are you guys feeling about the MVP race? Currently it seems like Dak and Brock are neck and neck. Too bad it's a QB only award now because I think CMC and Tyreek Hill deserve some consideration.
700M for Ohtani. He ended up where everyone initially expected but they extracted maximum value by playing the Blue Jays as pawns. Jays fans reeling worse than Eagles fans right now.
Two Monday night football games tonight. I will jump on sometime during the game if anyone is around. Payout of the weekly pick 'em after the games.
@siggy47 will be live on location tonight to witness the Islanders crush the fraud Maple Leafs. We are with you Siggy, we are all Isles fans tonight. May your Tavares and Maple Leafs hate fuel your team to victory.
Sats for all, GR
The silver lining of the weekend for me was definitely the Chiefs whining about being called for a penalty that they clearly committed.
I don't have a strong feel for the MVP race, but I just don't think it will be Dak or Brock. My expectation is that it will just get defaulted to Mahomes.

I would think Tua and Lamar Jackson are ahead of him at this point but there are 4 games left and if he plays really well in those games I am sure the voters will forget the rest of the season.
reply
They might be right now and I think they're both more likely than Dak or Purdy.
I think it's going to be hard for Purdy, just because everyone knows how stacked that team is. It reminds me of the Durant Warriors, where it didn't matter how well he or Steph played, the team was too good for either of them to get any consideration.

I guess if we are discounting for weapons probably Lamar is the front runner and then Mahomes. Brock has the most varied weapons but Dak and Tua aren't short of playmakers either.
reply
If he ends the season strong, I could easily see Lamar getting it.
reply
Definitely. Especially when you factor in his rushing yards and rushing TDs.
reply
We are most definitely not all Isles fans
reply
Haha. Ok most of us, even if it is through our disdain of the Leafs.

Josh Allen for MVP if bills run the table and he ends up with 50 Total TDs
Think of it as when A-Rod won the MVP with the rangers and I think they were dead last in the standings that year😆
reply
Definite possibility. When Allen has it rolling he can put up some wild numbers.
