pull down to refresh

I recently read Augustus, by John Williams. I usually never read historical fiction, but I really enjoyed his novel Stoner so I gave it a shot. It is epistolary in form, meaning that the story is told through imaginary letters written between the characters. It was very well done. In fact, it won the National Book Award. I have read a lot of straight history about Augustus, so this reinforced my knowledge. It was also entertaining.
Do any stackers share my love for ancient Rome? If so, I'd enjoy checking out your recommendations.
Great idea. Looking forward to getting some good book ideas.
