Mississippi boy approves!
When they say roots, they mean Mississippi. Blues (Too many to name from The Delta), country (Jimmie Rogers of Meridian, MS) and so on
And of course Muddy Waters, Mississippi John Hurt, Robert Johnson, and others that are slipping my mind right now.
I lived in Oakland when John Lee Hooker was alive and owning his club in San Fran.
A master.
Muddy and Howlin!!!
Had the good fortune to see Muddy live a few times before he passed. Talk about energy and stage presence.
So much great Mississippi blues. I'm just getting started!
