This might just means cryptography as @Onions bravely illustrates below here.

@ekzyis that first link "Crypto 101" is actually about "cryptography" 😅

Funny thing is that Bitcoin used to be referred to as Crypto based on the cryptography it was build on but altcoins own the term nowadays and most stackers hates it

Erik Cason’s book cryptosovereignty does a really good job explaining how the word crypto was hijacked by the shitcoin scammers.

Bitcoin is based upon cryptography which was invented to protect and secure information during times of war. Bitcoin is crypto and I thank Cason for changing my mental framework on this word

Do you recommend that book to me?

You don't know what you are talking about. Cryptography has always been shortened to "crypto". There are a looooot of things that are crypto that have nothing to do with digital currencies. Things even your mom (probably) uses every day.

reply

Yeah. People who were into cryptography would know that. But normies who got into shitcoinery recetently probably have no idea what cryptography even means, and assume crypto=altcoins

reply

I would say that bitcoin uses crypto.

most stackers hates it

you do you :) like i do me
