Great idea, I think it would be useful if SN first experimented with memes by modifying the daily discussion board prompt to read "Post Your Best Memes" once per week.
Perhaps on every Monday, SN users could submit their best memes to guage interest in the idea, and we can see how many people actually post memes.
From a dilution perspective, I think it would be helpful to do some test-runs in the daily discussion board to be sure the addition of a new sub won't turn it into a ghost town.

So this is where the idea came from for "Meme Monday"? Interesting!
I stumbled across this post because I was looking for the last Meme Monday so I can repost it to a private imageboard run by friends of mine. Will probably post the best Bitcoin meme onto that imageboard every Tuesday now.

Yep, we have image upload ability now and I want to experiment with different sub formats and post policies. Users also seem to want to joke around a bit more.

I know we can upload prof pictures. Do we still have to use markdown for adding pictures to comments/posts

Yeeeaahhhh a meme sub would be a pretty safe bet for a first sub!
I'm also pretty sure that it won't thin out the community. More space for more content = more user engagement!
