It's a love hate relationship. They love Bitcoin because that's where the majority of their profit comes from. They hate bitcoin because it puts a sledgehammer to the "crypto" narratives they shill. Coinbase would prefer Bitcoin didn't exist.
The CEO didn't know how to do a transaction over lightning and the guy they put in charge of lightning research admitted that he hadn't looked at it in years and just blindly accepted all the crypto tropes about lightning.
Especially bad since Coinbase hates bitcoin.
I don’t think they hate Bitcoin at all, I think ETFs actually give Coinbase a huge opportunity to build a strong business by focusing on Bitcoin.
