Common misconception. People who lend Dollars to GM before 2009 could tell you how painful it is to loose your bonds while watching how Chevrolets are still rolling off the factories.

And I gave you the answer. Bankruptcy doesn't mean something ceases to exist. It means the previous owners lost everything, the previous lenders lost a lot of money but got a little of it back. And meanwhile the employees continue to do their stuff.
