Funny how often talk about electricity or solar power ends with me explaining how bitcoin fixes grid problems. Happened again on a work call.
I usually start talking about what I've learned about power grids and demand issues. For you all this is probably basic stuff but most people are clueless. I explain the issues with production vs demand. Then I mention how it would be cool if there were some consumer that could promise demand but curtail use when needed. Then I mention bitcoin miners could do this. Oh, and they already do. And it helps stabilize the grid.
Fun to watch people be amazed and the light bulb start to come on.
That must be the best. Especially working in an industry who care less about virtue signalling and more about grid reliability, availability & capacity.
Kind of like talking to merchants whose payments are being blocked. Or being debanked. No brainer decision. I’m sure it’s like an 80% success rate in the energy industry.
