A shitcoin project gets me fired for buying bitcoin

Yep, you are reading well, in short, I have been collaborating for several months in a crypto project.
Once they realized that I was spending 90% of my salary (tokens) to buy BTC they have expelled me from their team of collaborators.
I wasn't going to share it, in fact I can't mention the project, in any case they are all the same. Definitely I will strive to work alongside bitcoin only companies and organizations

If we assume that the token is the main product of the company, selling the tokens the minute you get them doesn't show a very strong faith in the future of the project...
Selling your tokens to buy Bitcoin sounds irrelevant here. If you were selling to buy lollipops, pretty sure the result would have been the same.

Right, the problem is not having bought bitcoin but selling the shitcoin, but when I signed the contract no one demanded that I had to hold shitcoins, otherwise I would not have agreed to the position. I joined the company as a designer, not as a holder 😅

I had exactly the opposite situation. Founder of project sold project's tokens and bought dollars and bitcoins while I believed in project stored tokens and even buy more with my precious sats. Can't believe how fool was I during ico boom
