That was a really exciting night of basketball. The Heat/Bucks game was awesome. It seems safe to say that this tournament has been a big success.

Everyone made it through unscathed, so we still have six participants and only two have their first strike. Most of us still have four teams to choose from, which puts @elnosh who still has five teams in a pretty commanding position going forward.

Here are the Quarter Final matchups (Vegas spread)

  • Boston (-5) @ Indiana
  • Sacramento (-5) @ New Orleans
  • New York @ Milaukee (-6)
  • Phoenix @ LA Lakers (-2)

We're getting into some tricky strategic choices now. I'm eager to see what people do. I'll put my pick in the comments soon.

Victory Pot
19,655 sats and growing (albeit slowly)

As always, any zaps to me go into the pot.

My best chance to have a championship team. To the bold go the satoshis!

I still need to try to lose to have one team available for the finals. I'll take the Knicks. Hopefully whoever wins between the Kings and Pelicans can take the West final, leaving me the Bucks in the final If they make it there.

I have almost the same exact strategy in mind, but for me it's taking the Pacers this round. The only way I can completely run out of teams before the semifinals is by picking someone in the NO/Sac game, so I want to make sure I have someone to pick in the next round.

reply

My Pacers strategy backfired on me. I figured take the Pacers in the prelim rounds because I wouldn't want to use them in the playoff rounds but I didn't foresee losing being beneficial.

reply

It backfired, but it still might have been the right way to think about it.

reply

How about those Raps tonight? Giant killers again.

reply

I caught the recap this morning. They're actually a really nicely constructed team.

reply

I like how Barnes is developing and Shroder has been a nice addition. OG is a great defender and Siakam is a very good player. They have a lot of talent but I think they still need more shooters. Last night they shot 37% from 3 and 86% from the line. Those numbers are really good for them. I have seen a lot of 25% and 75% nights.

That makes this a death match between you and @POTUS.

Yep, it's more fun that way. Wishing everyone good luck!

I'm taking the Pacers and really hoping Milwaukee advances.

We still need picks from @BTC_Bellzer and @gnilma. Please don't make me try to figure out who the worst pick is for you.

Thanks for the reminder. I'm still thinking. Just need to do it by end of day Sunday, since the next set of games is on Monday, yes?

reply

No rush. I'll send out another reminder Monday morning, if necessary.
