Hello again, my SN friends, I'm going to summarize my trip to El Salvador in a few words. I landed in Ilopango San Salvador and stayed in a room for a few days, enjoying myself and satisfying my curiosity. I have to admit that I came with a lot of desire and high expectations, when I had my shopping experiences during the days here, it was as if I was living a life that we only share in our community, I've stayed in several different countries and made payments with BTC several times, but this experience was unique, it's very true about the lack of technological structure for everything to work properly, but being able to use BTC for everything is really a pleasure.
unique, I'm going to miss this place, although I think I should get to know it better. As I moved from the capital to the interior and even to the coast, you can see the essence of these hard-working, hopeful people. I'm not talking about politics, but here we see patriotism dosed and directed toward decentralization.
When you go to the beach and manage to pay for your coconut water with a few SATS ..... it's a unique experience! I know that some friends want a more technical or critical analysis of the protocol and its use, but the truth is that nothing on earth and under heaven can be perfect! But I will say that yes, this protocol can work anywhere in the world, if it works here, where the technological structure is not comparable with the great powers, let alone in them, can't it?.
I leave wanting to come back, and maybe not for a few days. .β¦

Did you have any problems paying with bitcoin anywhere? That seems to be a common issue.

The super-majority of merchants in El Salvador as a whole do not accept Bitcoin. In certain places like El Zonte the majority do. But only certain places.

Thank you for sharing! π Would love to see original pictures. Next time I go to South America I'll surly visit Paraguay and El Salvador. I heard once but I have not verified the information yet, that if you buy a property in Paraguay and live there at least half of a year then you may realise profit from bitcoin and you need pay zero taxes. However I guess you need to have a residence permission or you need become a citizen. Anyway just an interesting story.

El Salvador is incredibly welcoming, and there's still plenty of room for now. However, the influx of both the diaspora and Bitcoiners is off the charts and price of real estate is blowing up. Something to keep in mind for long term planning.

What's that lack of tech structure?
