I've been contemplating what the "DNA" of a true Bitcoiner is, and started making a list. Thoughts?
A true Bitcoiner
- Educates themselves constantly
- Educates others
- Is mission-driven and self-motivated
- Contributes to the (technical and/or social) Bitcoin network
- Doesn’t expect handouts or rewards for no work
- Loves connecting and collaborating with other Bitcoiners
- Owns bitcoin (=self-custody)
- Gets all the memes
What would you add?
I'm not a fan of using the term "True Bitcoiner".
Most people who label themselves as "Bitcoiners" are actually Fake Bitcoiners. Simply "investing" in Bitcoin doesn't automatically make you a Bitcoiner.
The term "Bitcoiner" has lost all meaning, that's why we had to come up with a new term: "Bitcoin Maxi" or "Bitcoin Toxic Maxi", those are the "True Bitcoiners".
A "Bitcoiner" is much, much more than just holding Bitcoin. In fact, the quantity of your BTC holdings doesn't matter. It's the percentage of your wealth in Bitcoin that makes you a Bitcoiner, and the rest of the things Darth mentioned bellow.
When you truly grasp the concept behind it, you become a Maxi. If you take a look at my Bio, you'll see that I made the conscious decision to remove the term "Bitcoiner" altogether some time ago.

Spending Bitcoin. As important as holding. When you see so much bitcoin related shit being sold in FIAT.. SMHO
True seems subjective.
mission-driven? Not me.

Duh! How could I forget that! :D
