Dear Stackers :) We have developed a Lighting POS Terminal for merchants including Dashboard and Reporting. The reason was, in Bavaria we don't have very much merchants accepting Bitcoin yet, we want to change that! :) I'm very curious about your thoughts how Bitcoin will transform the future of daily shopping. Also happy to answer questions and curious about anything you want to say!
Viele Grüße Lederhosen
This is the way... help merchant to accept bitcoin, need to be easy and then catch them into the rabbit hole.
Congratz!
Spanish implementation? it's a PoC?

Spanish implementation on it's way. I was in Gran Canaria a couple of weeks ago to speak to local merchants! We just need the Dashboard in spanish, which is on the road map for next year but the Termin is easy to understand :) We are currently manufacture the cases, after assembling here in Bavaria, we will be ready to ship in the next weeks!

Don't hesitate to use some platform to open the translation, happy to help in French, Spanish or Portuguese, I don't remember the name but ... I think there is some app for translation paid in sats.

Interesting. Good work. I always like when somebody is building solutions for merchants. Without their acceptance, bitcoin is useless.
I know that your solution is a custodial solution and you are practically another intermediary in the P2P BTC tx, but it is what it is, for now. Bitcoin is not supposed to be like that, but for the moment I would like to think of these solutions as "uncle Jim" LN banks, that really want to help the merchants to start. Somebody have to start and self-custody is not easy for them, especially to run a LN node liquidity.
  1. How do you manage the liquidity for your LN node? I suppose you don't have too many merchants right now and also they do not have such a big volume to affect your liquidity too much.
  2. Are you going door to door to the merchants and convince them to start with your solution?
  3. I saw you are pushing them to withdraw to their own wallets. Are you doing also education with them, how to manage their self custody wallets?

Hello DarthCoin, thanks for your feedback! That's exactly what we thought. Especially with Lightning it makes it now cost-efficient and they receive the payment instant.
We are non-custodial! The Terminal is setup with the merchants own Lightning Wallet adress and the funds go directly into the merchants lightning wallet.
  1. We run ower own Node which is based in Germany. We have a couple of beta customers at the moment. Check for Opago Node :)
  2. Yes! I/We will, and our partners (6 so far) too. We also plan to make workshops and sponsor bitcoin meetups. And we have a very competitive Partnershipmodell. We offer livelong provision on refered merchants. So if anyone would like to help us onboarding merchants and earn sats: partnerships@opago-pay.com
  3. As we don't have a crypto custodial licence we have to withdraw the funds immediatley. We are currently in the progress of maintaining the crypto asset service provider licence and hope to get positive Feedback in the beginning of next year. Back to your question: We partnered with SimpleBitcoin https://www.simple-bitcoin.app/ to help our merchants with education via an App. Also we have a partnership with BitMoin from Bremen for on-side trainigs!

Well done, I like this kind of work, focusing on merchants. As I wrote in almost all my guides: https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/how-bitcoin-will-save-the-world

You have a new subscribor :)

That's the back of the terminal. We thought, we give out stickers with every LIGHTNING POS-Terminal, so the merchant can show that he is accepting Bitcoin!
