There is also a famous bank run scene in Mary Poppins
The children's father and grandfather both work at a bank, and one of the themes of the film is freedom & simplicity versus fiat, exemplified by Mary Poppins encouraging the children to use their tuppence to feed the birds, whereas their paternal line wants them to become productive capitalists through investment and lines of credit
Thanks for this and it's news to me about this movie. I probably watched this years ago but didn't have the money lens I have as an adult. This is the kind of thing we're looking for. I'll go back and watch. Thanks!
