I was a on Twitter space hosted by layer 2 labs and I think bip 300 and 301 are interesting. They allow for people to develop layers on top of L1 just like lightning and opens the door to more features.
It's also a soft fork so I don't understand the downside.
My concern is that it could have some vague unintended consequences.
Would love to hear other peoples thoughts.
My position is neutral but that they are noise until we reach mass adoption of Bitcoin's primary function, to bring fair, sound, uncensorable money to the world.
When we are at 1B users let's talk about drivechains, sidechains, virtual machines and all. I do agree eventually all good ideas (and there are a few but they get mired in perverse incentives) from crypto will eventually come to bitcoin but none of those features are critical for Bitcoin to reach it's primary objective. Let's build the foundation before installing the elevator.
