pull down to refresh

Yesterday was a good day of football. Some high profile games, some very exciting finishes and compelling storylines with a couple fellow stackers' teams (Raiders and Vikings). The Bears tried to make it interesting and put an end to our survivor pool but in the end the Saints pulled it out so our three remaining players all move on for at least one more week.
I will probably jump on for the second half of the MNF game tonight and to zap the weekly pick em winner after the game if anyone is around and watching.
A couple takeaways I had from yesterdays games: I wasn't impressed with either the Chiefs or the Dolphins. Personally, I think, at least right now, the Ravens and the Bengals are the two best teams in the AFC. Maybe I am suffering from recency bias but that's my story and I am sticking to it. So since we are halfway through the season shill me your top 5 teams or shill me the teams you think will be top 5 in the second half.
Sats for all.
Cheers, GR
I'm still recovering from yesterday's game. That was craziness. When hall got injured I was in full tilt mode. Thinking there's no way someone can pick up the offense in less than a week and be expected to win a game. Then Dobbs took a safety and I really thought we were going to be in trouble. But what a performance by the guy, I think we'll be alright with either him or Hall (when he's healthy) hall looked good and efficient once he calmed down from the jitters... Then got injured. Wild game.
Top 5 2nd half. San Fran Eagles Vikings (yeah you heard me) Bengals Dallas
I know... Chiefs aren't there... Because they're just not that impressive. They didn't look like a 7-2 team yesterday, I think there looked like some sideline/locker room issues that winning has been covering up.

After Mahomes won a Super Bowl on one leg, the Chiefs are on my list by default.
reply
Don't get me wrong, they're still exceptional. But I think the cracks are showing.
reply
If they get the number one seed (likely as their remaining schedule is easier than the teams they will be competing with) they will still be very dangerous in the playoffs with a bye and then all home dates.
reply
Just to put tongue in cheek... The face of the NFL gets an easy schedule and a clear run to the SB? Nah it's definitely not scripted. 😜
Yeah there's no one really in the AFC that can challenge them for that top spot.
reply
Chiefs definitely seem off. They are good enough to keep winning but they are not the same team.
reply
Yeah, I can't put my finger on it but they don't look like the elite team they've been.

I'm so pumped by that Raiders win. The first half was probably the most dominant all around performance since Gruden's first tenure. The Bengals really are back to form and it looks like the Dolphins are fake.
Top 5 going forward 49ers Bengals Eagles Ravens Chiefs
reply
I like this top 5. I hope the 49ers prediction is correct. Typically they are really good second half team but they have a tough stretch coming up. I am hoping they can go 7-2 in the second half but we will see. Jags, Eagles, Seahawks x 2 and Ravens still on the schedule.
reply
That is a tough lineup, but all five are winnable for a healthy niners squad.
reply
How did you do on your bets this week. Looks like I am down about 1k sats for the week.
reply
It depends on how MNF goes. I'll be in the black if the Chargers win, but otherwise I'm down about 1k, too.
reply
Ok putting 500 sats on Jets just to make it interesting.
I will take 3-2 in this stretch as long as they take care of business in the other 4 games which would get them to that 7-2 second half and 12-5 overall. 12-5 probably doesn't get a sniff of the number 1 see with the Eagles at 8-1 but probably gets them a couple playoff home games.
