Hi everyone šŸ‘‹
I've created a crossword with a 0.01 (one million sats) bounty:
In honor of Bitcoin Pizza Day and the legendary Laszlo Hanyecz, who added tangible value to bitcoin.
The words are the key to decrypting the message -- you won't need anything but a connection and some savviness to sweep the reward. No shenanigans.
If in doubt, the code is open-source and the encrypted message is freely accesible.
If the crossword remains unsolved, I will be dropping a few hints in a few days time.
Enjoy! šŸ•šŸ•

NICE! Quite creative to use BIP39 words. I've added a few hints, hope it helps!

This site is an invaluable tool to help in solving the puzzle https://www.bestwordlist.com/p/o/1/words4lettersfourthlettero.htm
HEY YOU GUYS I SOLVED IT!!!!
but i didn't solve it first.
but i did learn some things from the wallet recovery process
  1. Mycelium only lets you have one btc wallet (adios mycelium)
  2. There's a delay when loading the words into Sparrow... not a big one but that threw me off as i rushed to restore thinking i maybe won.
reply
Sorry about it! I think it's time I write a message that it's been solved. Although I enjoy reading the messages from people who liked the hidden message :)
reply
Sure, write a message in places..
or maybe update the functionality when somebody has completed the puzzle.
2 things though...
  1. The crossword could be a good pneumonic tool for a wallet interface... consider that, in terms of what you get up to next.
  2. I hope the existing puzzle stays online for a bit. It could be cool to send to pre-coiners.
reply
this is really clever. implementation is cool too... v clean :)
reply
thanks! I've added some clues on the crossword page :)
reply
hey, awesome.
can i assume that the order of the elements in the array of words matches their order in the sentence?
reply
It's not a certain assumption.
I ordered the words from left to right, top to bottom (ie: x coordinate first, y coordinate second) based on how they fit in the crossword. To avoid said assumption to be done ;) thought no one would think about it, happy to see someone did!
reply
But you gotta tell us for sure, the order of the words in the sentence is the same as the one we get by tapping tab right? i.e. :
  1. DOWN 3 letters
  2. DOWN 7 letters
  3. ACROSS 4 letters
  4. ACROSS 5 letters
  5. DOWN 3 letters
reply
I guess we need to start with this list and choose a word, like whether to go with age or ace or fee.... https://www.wordhippo.com/what-is/ending-with/3-letter-words-e.html
reply
so if the correct 5 words are entered in the correct places, the puzzle will automatically end right? And show some sort of invoice?
reply
I am way to stupid to solve this amyway
reply
The less you think about complicated or smart words, the better you will fare int this crossword. Few hints added on the page :)
reply
how do i know if i am right?
reply
confetti. Like, lots of confetti.
reply
May Genesis stays the same
reply
this one is great wow. I think it's better than my message. Word clues have been added now to the crossword.
reply
thanks :)
reply
coooool, i like puzzles
reply
Neat. I'm probably to dumb for it tho
reply
Same as the other reply, no need to go too deep into intelligence.
reply
neat, so the words are not bip39 words?
reply
I've added some clues to the page. Answering your question:
No knowledge about the BIP-39 wordlist is needed or was used as a reference for this crossword.

FINAL UPDATE:
Someone from bitcointalk.org solved it, took less than 20 hours since published, that's quite impressive. I was afraid someone managed to brute-force it (someone on reddit tried 33 million combinations in one day).
Still, if it itches you to know the solution, I've added some word hints that should make it trivial to solve.
Stay tuned for my fourth project :)
reply
omg someone solved it? your new clues made it very easy "BANKS ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS" right? So you put the clues just now because someone already solved it?
reply
yes correct. I don't know how he solved it so fast. When I saw the funds were swept I was afraid it was brute forced. Happy it wasn't, humans won, machines lost. Sending you some sats for all the creative entries :)

this hint threw me off, as Genesis was in bold, i assumed that for sure the long word would either be Genesis, Satoshi or Bitcoin. But it turned out to be "Friends".
reply
Dang, I thought
Chancellor on Brink of Second Bailout for Banks
Would have something to do with it. And the other hint was that it would be a sentence.
reply
i found out about this puzzle too late just 2 hours ago, others have been working on it since 20 hours, damnit

UPDATE #1
Clues have been added to the crossword page on the bottom, based on the comments here. More will come! Ideas for clues are welcome. Someone has made a small anonymous tip for the reward, yay! :)
reply
Cmon guys, let's make this thread here more valuable than the same posted by OP on Reddit. Reddit is dying? Prove it!
reply
