The German export industry is facing formidable challenges due to a persistent decline in global demand. September saw a 2.4 percent drop in exports, factoring in calendar and seasonal adjustments, as reported by the Statistische Bundesamt (Destatis). This figure surpassed expectations, with economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires predicting a 2.0 percent decrease.
More concerning is the year-on-year comparison, which reveals a 7.5 percent decrease in exports for September.
