In 2010, a programmer named Mark Andrews started mining Bitcoin on his personal computer. He was intrigued by the technology but didn't think much of it at the time. He accumulated a small number of Bitcoins and stored them in a wallet on his computer.
Over the years, Andrews forgot about his Bitcoin holdings as they were of little value at the time. It wasn't until 2021, more than a decade later, that he stumbled upon an old laptop while cleaning out his garage. To his surprise, the laptop still worked, and on it, he found his long-forgotten Bitcoin wallet.
Upon checking the wallet, he discovered that he had approximately 12 Bitcoins, which were now worth a substantial sum due to Bitcoin's increased value. This unexpected windfall was a life-changing moment for Andrews, who had unknowingly become a Bitcoin HODLer.
