If you want authentic I would say Habaneros Cafe, they have good mexican breakfast that reminds me of South Texas. If you want great mexican tacos can’t go wrong with Mi Madres. Best pastor tacos are mine lol only thing I know how to make pretty damn well.

Chuy’s is a pretty big chain now, but their food is quite good IMO and it started in ATX

Honestly, you can't go wrong most places. It's worth trying queso wherever you go as it's something that's uncommon outside of new mexico/texas.

I’m not a big texmex guy so I go where ever is convenient. A lot of the guys like Granny’s Tacos but I mean it when I say you can go anywhere and get a similar experience. Torchy’s is a pretty significant chain if you’re looking for a more approachable vibe. The place I frequent the most is across the street from my office, but I wouldn’t go out my way to go there.

Thanks for the intel- I have some family in town and want to take them to some solid Austin food places. Last night we went to Terry Blacks.
I’d you have any other spots you like, doesn’t have to be TexMex, lmk :)
