It's Meta Music Monday, so be sure to check out @Public_N_M_E's post.
Pretty good day of football yesterday and I was pleased to see the Rangers push the ALCS to game 7. Who doesn't love an elimination game? I was left wanting a little by the Sunday Night Football game. I know Miami had a couple key injuries to the D and the OLine is banged up but I expected them to put up more of a fight than that. Especially since Philly didn't look great offensively either until late in the third quarter. I have had a hard time all season placing Miami amongst the elite teams of the league and last night did not support their case in my mind. We will see when they get their cornerbacks and OLine healthy. As for the Eagles, they are playing nowhere near as well as last season, especially Hurts (another 2 turnovers last night) but they keep winning. If they actually put it all together they are going to be scary.
I believe everyone chose the 49ers in the weekly pick em and the tiebreaker was for the Miami/Eagles game, so I think the outcome of tonight's game is moot but I will review the picks and zap the winner after the game tonight. I probably won't be as active on SN during the game tonight with the 49ers playing but I will be around if anyone wants to chat and troll me if the 49ers look as bad as they did last week.
Friendly reminder, tomorrow at 12pm est is the deadline for the Frozen Frenzy pool so if you want to show off your hockey picking skills, you can join the pool here #290313. Only four entrants so far, it would be nice to get a couple more.
Also, NBA starts this week so I think a couple basketball posts will be in order. Maybe our resident NBA expert @Undisciplined will do an NBA post for us if he isn't too busy storming the castle gates with his Meta Econ Takeover project. If you haven't checked out his push for an econ sub, please do. I follow basketball but not as closely as I follow MLB and NFL so if there are any big hoops fans that want to post (feel free) or discuss a certain topic, let me know.
Enjoy the game tonight. Go Niners (sorry, not sorry public)
Sats for all.
Cheers, GR
man, that lions game was just painful to watch. hopefully they learn from it and come back strong next monday. at least it wasn't a division loss, but that's about the only positive thing i can say. it felt like watching the old lions, which is not a feeling i enjoy

Don't worry, you've got the ultimate get-right opponent coming up on Monday. Raider Nation is bracing for it, already.
The silver lining for us is that after the Lions win by 40, Josh McDaniels might finally get fired.

I used to rag on Shanahan for some questionable calls and bad clock management in the SB against the Chiefs and the NFC Championship against the Rams but he is one of the best coaches in the league. When you look around and see how few really good coaches there are, it makes you appreciate having one.

They will shake it off. They had a terrible game and we have been waiting all season for the Raisins to start looking like the Raisins. Perfect storm. Lions are still the best team in their division and I think they are probably the 3rd best team in NFC (maybe 4th if the Cowboys figure out how to not be the cowboys-unlikely).

With how sad the Raiders are making me, the NBA can't start soon enough.
