- Depends on your perspective on social media.
- Depends on what you mean by kids.
- Depends on your approach morality.
I'll be talking about the current majority use of Nostr as a Twitter clone. I think social media in general is not good for humans. Not that it can't be good or useful but the way most people(including me at times) interact with it is not healthy. In my experience a lot of Nostr content is no different. Most of it is a waste of time. It is far better than other social media because the masses haven't found it yet and the corporate press isn't yet using it as a manipulation tool. I think both will change.
You say kids. That's vague. Maybe for teens I'd say depending on the child. I don't think most teens are really prepared for social media. Preteens should not be posting stuff that will never go away because kids are dumb. They lack experience and knowledge about the world. They need to be taught and taught by example.
Nostr is a free for all so you know what that means. It blows my mind that parents just hand their kids technology that allows them access to the most horrendous things you can't even imagine. So if you are one of these people then you are probably fine with Nostr for kids. It does depend on your relays and you could run your own private relay. Remember I'm not talking about the protocol. Talking about the current state of its use.
