Hope is self-made. Embrace your humanity, dream of a better world, and take action towards that vision. By persisting even in challenging times, we not only create hope for ourselves but inspire it in others. 🌟 #YouMakeHope #NewHappy
“I feel hopeless.”
I understand why you’re feeling this way. I also know that you can create hope, wherever you are. Here are the three steps to take.
First, you must embrace your humanity. This means treating yourself like a human being in hard moments, refusing to turn away from your own pain. Do what you need to do for yourself, to care for your well-being, and to honor your emotions and experiences. At the same time, it also means refusing to turn away from the pain of others. Do what you can for them, sharing compassion and kindness in any way or form that is available to you. Humanity is collective.
Second, you must dream of what is possible for humanity. We have to dare to imagine a better world. Everything that exists around us was once a dream. Why can’t your dream for humanity become a reality, too? Come up with a vision that inspires you.
And third, you bring them together. You use your humanity to work towards your dream for humanity. What are the gifts that you can contribute? How can you be most useful? Where do you feel most called to contribute?
Hope is made by taking action, by choosing to persist in working towards a vision even when it is scary or difficult. As you do this, you don’t just create hope for yourself — you also make it for other people, for those around you who need a reminder that there is good here, too. Hope is holding fast to your dream of a better world, the stubborn insistence to continue working towards it, and the commitment to doing it alongside of others for the benefit of all.
