a plane ticket on travala, they only offer on-chain payments which was incredibly slow.
they give you a 30 minute window to make a confirmed on-chain tx, and of course mine didn’t confirm in time.
i thought i’d have to start over again with a new bitcoin price (or chat with their support team), but once my payment did confirm they honored it and gave me my reservation details.
one of the first times i’ve really felt like making an on-chain bitcoin payment sucks.
Notice how in that example pre-opening a lightning channel to their node would be an improvement on the pure on-chain experience.
Unfortunately the UI/UX challenges of making that easy are formidable.
