This may not fully answer the question, but back when I used Reddit, it took me a while but I finally identified some subs that I used to enjoy but had become nothing but sources for anger and becoming upset. So I unsubscribed and felt much better

The negativity is like a sickness. I know of many others who cant help but stay angry and upset about all the strife in the world -- and their "compassion" just blinds them to their own issues they refuse to address.
Not asking for an answer, but curious just what the "switch" is that you flipped to start avoiding the BS that others seem to have such a hard time finding
