That was a fun weekend of sports.
It was cold and rainy all weekend in my next of the woods. I watched a lot of baseball Saturday and a lot of football Sunday but also managed some family time, got my parents outdoor furniture put away for them and got in a workout on Sunday so I don't feel like a complete sloth watching sports all weekend.
It's Meta Music Monday so go check out @Public_N_M_E's post. Too bad about his Vikings. On the bright side only 12 more games to be disappointed.
It's Canadian Thanksgiving today so I will be enjoying some family time and turkey later today. I will probably pop on to SN during the MNF game tonight but might not be around until a bit after kick off. Another weekly pick em coming down to the wire it seems.
That's all I have got for you today.
Sats for all.
Cheers, GR
Only 12 more games to be disappointed with indeed. Knew I could count on you for a silver lining.

Actually played the chiefs pretty well. You can't expect any calls to go your way against the chiefs. I didn't mind them not calling the pass interference but not after they gave the chiefs a huge one the drive earlier. It's ok for Mahomes to throw the ball 10 yards away from the receiver and it's still PI but no one else.
reply
Yeah the bias is really obvious. The no call on the removal of the helmet was massive for me. TJ Watt got called for it straight away. 15 yard penalty no messing around not what they did. They threw DPI and then picked up the flag and changed their mind. There were some filthy calls. The sideline catch? He didn't have possession in bounds at all. So much holding that wasn't called. It was poorly reffed. But as my old coach used to say to me, you play better than the ref refs and it won't matter, ultimately we didn't do that.
reply
Chiefs hold as a strategy. They know they aren't gonna get called for even 1/10 of their holds so it is worth it to hold on pretty much every play.
reply
I'd never watched them so closely until that game. Now I have no idea how qualified and paid refs "miss" these calls.

i'm telling you guys, the lions are the real deal. i know the panthers aren't exactly a tough matchup, but i don't think there's anyone else in the north that has a shot at this point
reply
I wouldn't go as far as to say the lions are for real yet. But they'll probably come out on top, due to the sheer ineptitude of the other division members.
reply
fair enough
reply
Either way you're probably 10k sats better off 🤣🤣 but when the lions go toe to toe with some of the actually good squads. Then we'll know if they're for real. But if they aren't this year, they're sure getting there. Hutch is a baaaaaad dude. ARSB is lethal, I believe Jamo will be a force. Solid oline with Sewell. Campbell will eventually take over the MLB from anzalone and branch is an incredibly versatile DB. Y'all got a lot of pieces and the makings of a young and soon to be excellent football team.
reply
Lions win that division easily. Whether they can compete with the other top teams in the NFC remains to be seen.
reply
Apparently, you're above gloating about how great your 49ers look, but they are incredible. Barring injuries, I don't see anyone beating them.
reply
Don't need to gloat. Proof is in the pudding. They are the best roster in the NFL. As I was saying to Public, the only weakness they have is playing against mobile QBs. Unfortunately, they will likely see one in NFC championship and Superbowl so we will see but the offense is better than previous years so maybe they don't have to win a playoff game 20-17. Maybe they can win 30-27.
reply
It's unfortunate they don't play the Dolphins this year. I would like to see the battle of speed v.s physicality. Dolphins D isn't good enough to get to the SB though which is the only time they would meet.
reply
You never know. The Greatest Show on Turf went all the way with its overwhelmingly fast offense.
reply
True. I just have a hard time believing those speedsters don't get a bit banged up and slow down especially once cold weather hits. If they can get the number seed and play in Miami throughout the playoffs maybe but I don't see them beating chiefs or Bills in a playoff game on the road. Milano is a huge loss for the Bills. Maybe Dolphins win the division.
reply
I could see them coming away with the top seed. The Chiefs tend to lose a couple of winnable games because they get bored and play with their food. and, like you say, the Bills are already hampered by injury.
If Miami makes it through, they will be very dangerous playing in the new Vegas stadium.
reply
Would be interesting for sure.

9ers are going all the way. Even the eagles look beatable. But the 9ers... they're iron clad.
