What is a good SN Post for you? Did you observe something special about those who earn lots of love (and sats) and those coming short? What are the distinct features

There's no standard in SN posts. It's wild west. Nothing is sure, nothing is fix. All depends on the moment and what/when is the message of your post.

Most important thing: don't post on SN just to catch attention or sats. That is the wrong approach. I really do not understand why people want to "earn sats" or attention on SN, instead of just posting good stuff?

Post something that is really important, for stackers and for you. And no shitcoining. I assure you, if you post about shitcoining, you will get only bad flags, no sats, no attention. Stick with Bitcoin and read these: #269878

Alright boss btw read alot of your LN article way back and just realised U are in here aswell

reply

I am not a boss. I do not want followers or attention. I just want people to use Bitcoin as much as they can. My bitcoin guides are a small door open for them. Is up to them if they read it or not. Nothing else matters.

I think an unofficial lexicon of Stacker News chat would be a worthwhile post…

Did assmilk go away?

Get what U mean but ... aren't we all in a way or the other sats-farmer 🥱? Or are you not hodling and exchanging as much Fiat as possible in BTC.

As long as there are sat-farmers there will be assmilking…. This is, sadly, the way :(

reply

WTH is this? No harm intended and was sadly not once fishing in my life but this looks disgusting and like it's covered in assmilk or some shit😄 Why is it so shiny

i think it’s the same general framework that makes other forms of content, or even entire businesses, great.

VRIN is a helpful mnemonic and framework for understanding the sources of “great” content.

The key questions to ask are:

  • Is this valuable?
  • Is this rare?
  • Is this inimitable?
  • Is this non-substitutable?

For those interested, here is a paper explaining the framework in detail.

reply

Never heard of this framework before n glad to come across it here. Thanks for sharing

If I may share from my personal experiences and observations, I think:

  • posts that detail a unique experience of the OP (like persuading merchants to go onboard the LN, leveraging Stacker News as a content creator) do well because they make our hearts warm and help us believe that we each can play a part and make a difference
  • posts that ask an open-ended question resonate with Stackers because they allow people to dig deep and share their insights/perspectives. People come to find commonalities and differences in the responses available, which adds value to the OP’s post

Just my two sats’ worth

reply

Two sats worth!!! I have got to start using that phrase instead of the other one. Need to train my brain to think in sats. Everyday usage of terminology. Sat by sat, piece by piece.

I think unique takes from on the ground often get my attention, I want to hear things I won't see on main stream media, or the so called alternative media, to me they just two sides of the same coin, I used to get some great into on Twitter from people on the ground but my feed has become unusable even though i try to mute shit and engage with posts up my alley, so now I troll SN and Nostr for signal

Lol no offense taken, the raggedy look encompasses how bitcoin is perceived by the normie, i'll make it look pretty once we flip Apple, 3 trillion then we're corporate AF

For me the rule is:

When you think "OMG this is soooo cool!" then you should post it.

Pick something you know. And engage people in discussions about it.

@grayruby does Stacker Sports to great success.

I've got my weekly music thread that's been reasonably successful.

Sometimes people just want to chat about normal everyday things with other like-minded individuals.

When you find something that brings value, you'll see returns.
