Well, I hate to be that guy (not really) but governments are not people. Bitcoiners can have a rational thought. Governments are beasts full of individuals with different agendas often fighting against each other... come to think of it people are often conflicted as well.
The first thing I can think of is governments and bitcoiners work to justify their existence. Governments do not exist to server their subjects. They exist to continue existing. So that is different from people. People know they will not exist forever so most seek to maximize impact and enjoyment.
