I think Jim Morrison was a very tortured soul. Robby Krieger, the guitarist, leaned into that and Light My Fire was the result (apparently.)

Nice. Yeah the doors were very good at surprisingly dark lyrics. I always liked riders on the storm. And people are strange. The do a good job at incorporating weird/creepy/dark themes into their tracks without being too obvious about it.

The End - The Doors (played to death imho but take the time to listen to the words and they are still very dark. Actually prefer it to Riders On The Storm another dark track.)
