I remember reading this story while I was living on the east coast back in school, and it blew me away.
Not read but watched the hacksaw ridge movie. The human spirit that Desmond Thomas Doss had on the battlefield to save all those men is unreal.

Tarrare, the French soldier with an insatiable appetite:
[Tarrare] became the subject of a series of medical experiments to test his eating capacity, in which, among other things, he ate a meal intended for 15 people in a single sitting, ate live cats, snakes, lizards, and puppies, and swallowed eels whole without chewing. Despite his unusual diet, he was underweight and, with the exception of his eating habits, he showed no signs of mental illness other than what was described as an apathetic temperament.

The story of Violet Jessop. Jessop is most well known for having survived the sinking of both the RMS Titanic in 1912 and her sister ship the HMHS Britannic in 1916, as well as having been onboard the eldest of the three sister ships, the RMS Olympic, when it collided with the British warship HMS Hawke in 1911.

The story about Erik Finman
Erik Finman is a 24-year old who became the Youngest Bitcoin Millionaire in The World at age 18, from Bitcoin investments begun at age 12 in 2011.
He invested $1,000 in Bitcoin in 2011. The majority thought a decision like this would be insane. With guidance from his older brother, he purchased Bitcoin when it was priced at around $12 per BTC.
Fast forward to today, Finman’s investment has made him a Bitcoin millionaire, with his Bitcoin holdings.

I remember reading this story, too. One of the more interesting stories I have read is about the Japanese bus strikes. THOSE BUS DRIVERS KNOW HOW TO STRIKE! Instead of forming a line asking for more pay, they drove their buses and let people on for free. They made sure to keep the buses running on time, too. They have a sense of pride!

Didnt read but watched Jaws recently...and the story that Quint tells about the incredible, insane experience about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis during WW2. I looked it up and while they may have overemphasized the shark part it was basically all true.
