I hate that I always think about the worst case scenario when I see things like this. Like yeah, it's super cool, but once Meta has a scan of your face they (or a sophisticated future hacker) can start impersonating you with an unprecedented level of precision.

It's a little terrifying to me. I'm not sure Meta has reason to become more conscious of ethics, yet there's no denying they're one of few playing this inevitable game at a high level.

it is still not easy for anyone to get their scan to have the realistic avatar, but maybe in the future anyone would be able to scan themselves easily. just in time for when we won't be able to go out.
