Score for the Lord of the Rings films was good.
There's a fun little fact about the isengard theme, I'm not sure how correct it is (not verified it myself), but I'll roll with it, it's the inverse of the hobbits theme. Which really shows the two sides of good and evil. Absolutely wicked composing, and very clever arrangement.

That's awesome.

It was. There's a moment in fellowship where they all come over the top of a ridge one by one and you get that big brass horns sound, really adds majesty to the whole thing of just walking between two rocks. Before you get the drone footage of them walking about various mountains.

I don't remember specifics like that I just remember watching those films and thinking how much the music added to the mood and suspense.

For sure, I was fortunate enough to go and watch star trek into darkness with the London symphony orchestra playing the music. And wow. What an experience, plus the live music gave you the goosebumps you don't always get through the cinema. Really great experience, if you ever get a chance to go and watch a film that has a live orchestra play the scores... go, drop whatever you're doing and go you won't be disappointed.

I would love to see Jaws that way. I saw the London symphony do a John Williams special on Star Wars at the Albert Hall. Very, very good night out.

Yes! Jaws would be amazing to see in that style. Off topic, i tried to get tickets to a night with Hanz Zimmer but couldn't get to them. That would have been something to write home about for sure.

Oh no - what a shame. He came back into my consciousness with the Wonder Woman theme…. Before then I thought Batman Begins was his last great work.
reply
Yeah the wonder woman theme was really good. The soundtrack to interstellar that he did I really enjoyed.
