Interesting, I wonder if this has anything to do with the growing sentiment in Europe with concerns over the EU's continued support/financial backing of the war in Ukraine and anger about how the sanctions against Russia have backfired to hurt people in Europe through rising energy prices (among other things). It's been a while since I more closely followed German politics, but I would assume that if AfD are anything like the party they were when I used to watch some German stuff (I remember watching speeches by Alice Weidel, Alexander Gauland, Gottfried Curio, I forget the others) then they are probably opposed to the sanctions on Russia and against the funding of the Ukraine war. So it would make sense for the organs of the state in Germany to go after people for ties to them, it seems only natural after they already made more overt moves against them trying to do an "anti-terrorism" thing, no? Disgusting either way.
