In 2016, I traveled to HK for a conference. My credit card for some reason got blocked after my first two transactions while I was in HK. So, I borrowed 1000 USD in cash from one of my best friends who lives in HK.
Came back to India and I had to send the money back to my friend. There was so much paperwork to wire transfer 1000 USD and I refused to sign 14 pages of documents. Instead, (used Circle back then) I bought 2.3 BTC at about 300 USD each with my credit card. Asked my friend to create an account as well and sent him BTC.
Friend sees 1000 USD and asks me how should he withdraw to his bank account? I ask him - do you really need this money, can you afford to lose it? He says - Yes.
We both forget about it, till July this year. Suddenly a 1000 USD (about 8000 HKD) is worth 8000 USD (64000 HKD). Friend is jumping with joy and he gifts me 1/3rd of his BTC stash!
Try to abstract from Fiat life. I literally can feel every step that leads to freedom by shifting to a complete btc standard. Your perception of the world can change drastically if You let go fiat instincts
